Dr. Brett Stark of Auburn Foot Care is an expert when it comes to foot health, and this includes providing advanced technology care. Below are summaries of treatments that are available. Learn more about how they each help with common podiatry issues.
Custom-molded braces and orthotics
We know that each person has different feet with unique needs. This means that an over-the-counter orthotic or brace may only provide a short-term solution for pain and discomfort.
- We offer three types of custom-molded orthotics: accommodative, functional, and functional-hybrid orthotics
- We offer three styles of custom-molded foot braces: custom AFO gauntlet, carbon graphite AFO, and Bongiovanni Brace
Ultrasound-guided treatment
We use ultrasound technology to guide us in our diagnosis of conditions like plantar fasciitis, torn tendons, and stress fractures. This technology also helps when it’s time for injections of cortisone. We will know the precise place to make the injection because of inflammation.
Fluoroscopy
Think of this technology as an X-ray that moves. With fluoroscopy, podiatrists can see in real-time how a patient’s body moves while applying weight on their feet. This allows for a clear picture of the damage or other concerns that may be the cause of pain. We use this technology to treat plantar fasciitis, neuromas, and bunions.
MIST Therapy
This advanced treatment option uses low-intensity ultrasonic mist to treat slow-healing wounds. We use this therapy for patients who suffer from foot ulcers, tumors, or other wounds.
MLS Laser Therapy
For patients with neuropathy, arthritis, fungus, and stress fractures, MLS laser therapy is another treatment option. The MLS laser converts light into biochemical energy that enters the tissue. Some of the benefits include breaking down scar tissue, decreasing swelling, and stimulating blood flow.
Regenerative medicine
The goal of this type of medicine is to regenerate and restore. Benefits of stem cell therapy include no cartilage loss, no painful recovery, and improved healing.
